History

Webb, Murray & Associates was established in 1974 by two registered engineers, formerly with DuPont, and since has provided professional services to industry and government.

Since its beginning, Webb, Murray has served chemical, petrochemical, and refining companies along the Texas Gulf Coast. We provided safety and fire protection services for NASA's Johnson Space Center (JSC) from 1980-1994. Our rapid growth was recognized by Inc. Magazine in 1982, 1983, and 1984 when the publication named Webb, Murray as one of the 500 fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States.

We have been committed to quality service to our customers since our beginning, but in 1990 a new structure began to take shape. We held several leadership conferences, based on the theme In Pursuit of Excellence, from the studies of Tom Peters. Many of our associates attended the conferences in the years that followed. In 1990 we also began to study Dr. W. Edward Deming's philosophy of management. In early 1991 we selected seven key company leaders to form our Quality Steering Committee (QSC) and to become our advanced Deming students. Since then many associates have attended Deming seminars, and we have trained others internally in the Deming philosophy.

We have a customer-driven, people-centered approach to quality which recognizes the worth of the individual, and applies it in an aligned way to provide world-class services to our customers. It is our aim to continuously improve every system in our company in a way which improves our service and products.
