•  Performing periodic building surveys and inspections, including the evaluation of life safety and egress systems, integrity of fire divisions, and adequacy and location of fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems.
 
•  Identifying and prioritizing fire protection and life safety discrepancies, and providing recommendations for corrective action.
 
•  Performing fire risk surveys and system safety analyses of hazardous laboratories, aircraft hangars, and other hazardous research and development operations.
 
•  Developing emergency preparedness and action plans for all buildings, to reduce and/or mitigate the hazard from fire, explosion, and natural phenomena.
